
All things being equal, advancement and growth in technology and digitalization, should help to facilitate good healthy living and improve our life entirely. But on the contrary, due to the misuse and abuse of technology, especially those aspects that are related to human health, this target seems to be jeopardized. As there is an advancement in technology and digitalization, so also supposed to be on our health and life. But the truth is that the case seems to be different here. Have you tried to wonder, why our fathers seemed to have more healthy lifestyle, than what we are experiencing in the whole world today, even in the absense of quality education, technology and digitalization? The truth of this is what today's content is about to reveal. Obviously, technology is good and digitalization is why we are on this platform today. But, you can notice that almost every apsect of human life currently, is totally and entirely depending on digitalization, directly or indirectly. From the simple home chores, to the complex industrial activities, the present generation of men, has fully depended on technology. Even the cognitive health aspect of our living today has also been affected, with the emergence of AI and chatGPT. This has made man not to think on how to improve his cognitive health, since AI and chatGPT are already available. Man today, has what is called over-dependent on technology, which has affected his health in one way or the other. For instance; before now, our fathers have a way of doing most of their physical works manually. It seemed to be a stress on them, yes it was. But on the other hand, it was benefiting to their health and lives. The truth remains that, digitalization or technological advancement is not the problem here, but the man. Due to the fact that so many people are not so civilized to fit into the some of the digitalized aspects of life, it then becomes a prblem for them. It now seems as if the former way of life contributes more to the healthy living, than the present digitalized way of life. Obviousely, when compared how healthy they were then, to the health situation on ground, it is certain that our fathers lived more healthier and sound than seen today. The questions is why such appreciable differences?Right here, I will be showing you the reason why our fathers seemed to live a more healthy life, despite the absence of technology and digitalization, or even enough civilization. And below are the details:
1. They depended majorly on naturally produced foods: Despite the fact that our fathers did not acquire enough knowledge, to know the health benefits of natural foods, like; vegetables and fruits, yet they depended fully on such nutritious and health-benefiting food nutrients. This is the reason why they were hardly affected by such sicknesses like; cancer, diabetes and heart diseases. Our fathers utilized those fruits and vegetables to check some of these deadly illnesses that are rampant in our generation. They included these food items on their daily diet, and hardly fall sick. Unfortunately, the era of technology and digitalization is here with us, and we like, value and appreciates it, but the truth is that we have now given ourselves to those chemically produced food items, and this has given way to some of these deadly and life-threatening diseases. Hence, we now found ourselves on the contrary part of healthy living when compared with our fathers. It therefore becomes important that as we go on to enjoy the benefits of technology and digitalization, we have to consider our health, and give cognizance to our life as well. Digitalization is good and great, but the misuse, abuse or ignorance of certain implications of the wrong use of digitally and technologically produced food items, is more dangerous than death.
2. They exercised constanly and consitently: Even when no one taught them the impact of physical exercise to our health, yet our fathers engaged themselves on one physical exercise or the other. Though they didn't learn about physical and health education or even about sports, yet they saw sports and exercise as a hobby. Our fathers trekked for meters and miles to make sure they straight and stregthen their bones, joints and muscles. They involved themselves on road walk, farming was a hoby to them because they saw the joy and happiness in doing it manually. They saw the benefits to their health. They know nothing of farm machines. It may seem to be a stress to them, but indirectly it was helping and good to their health. But on the contrary, despite the increase and improvement in the world of sports and athletic events, yet so many of us in this generation feel so reluctant about sports and physical exercises. Now that technology is here to stay, we now handover every of our activities for machines to do them for us, from the simple house chores, to the complex farm and industrial activities, we now depend on mechanically driven devices. You now see the reason why our fathers were free from such sicknesses and health challenging conditions like; asthma, athritis, dementia, back pain, cancer, heart disease, depression and anxiety. Thus, our fathers were able to live heathy, sound and longer.
3. They lived happily and joyfully: One of the major reasons why our fathers were able to stay healthy and lived longer in their time, was because they maintained a significant level of happier, joyful, peaceful and united lives with each other. There was no such life of worries and anxiety. They were satisfied with the little they had. Moreso, there was not such bad political, economical, social, religious, and emotional devastations, that has taken over our generation. They were not so anxious of accumulating and gathering the wealth of others to themselves alone. They shared things in common, and remained peaceful and united, with little or no worries. But on the contrary, digitalization is here, and technological devices very expensive when compared with the global economic situation. Hence, people are now suffering of heart attack, high blood pressure and so on, as a result of the desire to meet up with what the world has brought. Those days, our fathers can easily afford the money for bicycle, they can buy it and still have enough balance. But today, the bicycle then is eqivalent to private jet of today, then some one have not seen the money to eat three times a day, and digitalization has brought jet and expensive materials for us to buy, even in the presence of such global economic downturn. This is the major reason why such sicknesses like; depression and anxiety, anhedonia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain and other cardiovascular issues, has taken over our generation. As a result, the healthy life of the people has been on the contrary when compared with that of our fathers.
Hence, with all the above factors, the life now has seemed to be very far from what it supposed to be, and the health of the people seemed to be on the contrary, even in the midst of such great advancement in the technology and digital world, that should have facilitated our health and improved our life.
Thus, to be on the safer side, you need to follow this era of digitalization with caution, giving heed to the pros and cons of digitalization, especially those areas that has to do with our health and life. By so doing, you shall now enjoy a more reasonable healthy life than our fathers; thus tapping the most beneficial aspect of digitalization and technological advancement.
