Haven't considered so many things about who a leader is supposed to be, today we want to enter into the main topic that brought us into this particular content.

Remember once again that to occupy a leadership position is never a child affairs, neither is it bread and butter, but if you are given the opportunity to lead a set of people, it means you are worthy and can to carry them through. But in discharging of your duty as a good leader you are supposed to be, the only thing that can help you is to aviod certain mistakes that may jeoperdize your leadership reputation. To do this, you must have 100% consciousness and you don't just take decisions suddenly and accidentally. 

Right now, I want us to dive into today's topic together:

                        THE CATACLYSMIC EFFECTS OF A LEADER'S MISTAKE :

If there is anything that is very desasterous and catastrophic in nature, it is a leader's mistake. This is because a leader determines to success of the people, their progress, their victory, their testimony, their happiness and joy. It means that the failure of a leader, is also the failure of the people and vice versa. For instance, the failure of a football coach, must directly reflect on the way the players will be playing on the football field. Which can eventually lead to their defeat. It means if the coach made certain mistakes while coaching the players before the match, even when they enter the field for the main game, every of those mistakes of the coach will be revealed.

Similarly, the victory of soldiers or the millitary in the warfront is directly determined by the captain or commander. Any mistake made by the commander in discharging his dities as a competent  commander, will eventaully reflect on the battle field. That the soldiers will come back alife is determnie by how perfect the captain was while he was passing them through the train.

Also, the mistake of a school teacher when teaching the students in the classroom, can lead to massive failures after a particular examination.

In a similar note, the mistake of a father in discharging his duties as the leader of the family, can affect many generations coming after him, and before the mistake will be discovered, it might have led to the death of many.

Likes, the mistake of a religious leader(Bishop, Rev Father, Pastor, Pope , Imam, etc), can destroy many souls at eternity and cause them eternal regret.

Again, the mistake of a director or a manager of a company, can lead to multiple business collapse.

Likeways, the mistake of a driver of a vehicle, pilot of an air plane, sailor of a ship can lead to destructions of many lives and properties.

Then, the mistake of a governor, senator, president can lead to a collapse of the entire state, region and nation and can make the land to go into extinction.

To this, I have personally discovered that what we are passing through in our states, regions and countries today, is in one way or the other as a result of the mistakes of most of our passed and present political leaders. 

The hardship, insecurity, kidnapping, killing, robbery, economic breakdown, unemployment, joblessness, disputes, fightings, blood shed, suicides, waste of lives, theft, corruptions, bribery, political instablities, tensions, heart attack, prostitutions, criminal activities, cyber crimes and attacks, cultisms, money rituals, hopelessness, underdevelopment, and many others which is synonymous with many african countries today, is as a result of the mistakes of most of our political leaders. This is because, some of them wake up and take certain decisions that can only favour themselves and their immediate families, without considering what will be the condition of the masses.

Some of these our respected political leaders wake up to establish a policy that even though they know that such policies will not go well with the people, yet they continue with such policies, only because of their personal interest and the interest if their relatives.

The truth remains that even when some of these our leaders have discoverd the cataclysmic effects of their mistakes on the people, yet they find it very dificult to seek for corrections, instead they shift the same mistakes to their successors. And the worst aspect of the matter is that most of our leaders don't need corrections and are reluctant to accepting corrections from people that knows better political strategies than them. That is where their pride is revealed again. It takes absolute humility for any political leader to accept corrections.

Again, you need to understand that the mistake of a leader is a leading mistake, what it means is that, when a leader made any mistake, nonmatter how little the mistake appears to be, it reflects on every aspect of his leadership, and every body under his leadership or government must experience the impact of such mistakes, whether you like it or not.

Thus, the understanding of this will put every of our leaders into consciousness as to aviod making mistakes in their decisions, policies, and many things they may try to introduce into their government.

I want to speak promptly that  a 5 munites mistake of a leader, can take up to 8 years and even more before it can receive a 50% correction and before it can be corrected, thousands of lives must have been lost. At this point, you need to know;

      WHAT MAKES A LEADER'S MISTAKE TO BE CATACLYSMIC:

Why I said and continue to say that the mistake of a leader is very cataclysmic is because:

1. It destroys more lives and properties than a volcanic erruption.

2. It is easy to be made but very hard and difficult to be corrected, unless a more tactical, reasonable, intelligent and wise leader comes up.

3. It affects all and sundry, including the same leader that made the mistake and his relatives, even the ones that may be in other countries.

4. It can destroy the good reputation of a nation within a moment.

5. It affects every aspect of live in that particular land, Eg; the mistake of removal of fuel subsidy by the president of a given country, will not just affect the transport sector, but every other sectors of the economy of that country will directly suffer the effect, including the religion and millitry sectors will be affected.

6. It can destroy the future generation, Eg; when hardship sets in due to the leader's introduced new policy, many young children and students will be dropped out of school. In this, their academic hope for better tomorrow has been jeoperdized.

7. It leads to frustration of lives, which now acts as a base for all sorts of evil and wickedness, including internet frauding(yahoo), while others that proves to be more wicked in the heart will want to enter into money rituals or human trafficking.

8. It makes a country or nation to be hopeless, lazy and useless. This is because, when there is no other option to survive, even the people who are engaged in one work or the other will desire to stop working since the work can nolonger cater for their primary needs.

9. It can lead to the collapse of a nation or even lead the nation to extinction. That means such nation will only be existing by name but the qualities of a nation will be no where to be found.

                                 WHAT THEN IS THE WAY OUT?

      I  wish above all things that God will give us leaders that have listening ears, who love and accept advice from the well-meaning citizens of their country.

Obviously, I still understand the fact that to be a leader, you have signed live or death. This is because if you are controlling a nation of 10 million people, it means, you are supposed to have a psychological knowledge of how to relate with 10 million different characters and behaviours so that there will not be any problem. But in all, you cannot please every body. But as a leader, you must target to be good in the sight of atleast 80% of the people you are leading, anything less have misdefined you as a good leader.

Therefore, to minimize certain mistakes that will have a cataclysmic effect on the people, it is high time for every leader to:

1. Have an advisor and listen to them. Don't use your personal advisors as  fancy.

2. Take instructions from the citizens. Don't overlook the instructions of the good citizens of the place or country you are standing as their leader, because help can come from any where and two good heads they say, is better than one. Don't say, you know it all because you are a leader, remember nobody is an Island of knowledge.

3. Here peoples opinions. Most of our leaders doesn't have radio and neither do they listen to the radio, they never want to hear the comments of  the masses concerning their leadership. They are satisfied with how everything is moving ,whether they are getting it or not.

4. Shun pride; as a leader, it takes you nothing to be humble or to ask questions from people that understood politics better than you. That you won an election does not define you as someone who knows politics more than every body.

5. Don't take sudden decisions; Many of our leaders are always too briskly in rushing into decisions and policy making. Which when they eventually discover the mistakes, they have made, they feel ashamed to reverve those decisions.

6. Be sympathatic in your policy making; As a leader entering into the seat of leadership, you need to show atleast some percentage and degree of sympathy for the people you are going to lead. If you use your self-centered policy and kill everyone, who then will you lead.

In summary, I give credit to those who have in one way or the other occupied the office of leadership without making a cataclysmic mistake, that destroyed their reputations. Some of these are also African leaders and also some Nigerian leaders, whom I am not moved to mention their names within the scope of this blog content, but in the mean time I may do that. It was not so easy for those people, but they tried to give leadership a better definition in their time and tenor.

Meanwhile, if yourself is a leader currently, check crictically, logically and tactically and discover if leadership is still defined as leadership when compared to the people that handed over to you or you have worsen the whole thing.

Your ability to take cognizance of the content of this blog will help you not just to correct your mistake as a leader but to give leadership it's real and true definition.

It's not easy, but you can  play your and part so that your tenor of leadership as a president, senator, governor, chairman, traditional leader will not be filled with mistakes that will have a cataclysmic effects on your followers.
