Today, we will be looking at a very delicate organ of our body, that is THE KIDNEY.
And I will help you to explore;
4 FOODS THAT ARE VERY DANGEROUS TO THE KIDNE
The Kidneys which are bean-shaped organ that filters the blood, removes excess water in the form of urine and regulates essential minerals and fluids, hormones and blood pressure necessary for maintaining life, is a very important body organ and needs not to be tampered with.
But there are certain foods which you consume regularly, that have the tendency of damaging your kidney, thereby altering its proper functioning. There are so many of such foods, but within the scope of today's content, I shall be looking at 4 examples of such foods.
These foods include;
1. Processed Foods.
2. Canned Foods.
3. Frozen Meals.
4. Dairy Products.
Now, let's look into them one after the other, and see how they can cause damage to our kidney.
PROCESSED FOODS:
These are foods whose natural state has been altered either through freezing, canning, drying, addition of certain ingredients like; sugar, salt, and additives. It means that, the natural quality of such foods has been greatly reduced or even totally taken away. Such foods includes; bread, cakes, processed meats, frozen meals, ice cream, packaged snacks, cheese, margarine, instant noodles, frozen vegetables, etc.
How does processed foods affect the kidney?
1. Processed foods contains high sodium, phosphorus and potassium level, which when consumed in excess, can increase the risk of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
2. The sugar level in processed foods can also increase the risk of CKD.
3. Due to the high fat level in processed foods, the metabolic reaction may be complicated, which can affect the functioning of the kidney.
4. Processed foods are low in important nutrients such as proteins, fiber and vitamins which are essential for the kidney functioning.
All these make an excessive consumption of processed foods to be detrimental for the human kidney. Thus, to keep your kidney healthier and functioning, all you need to do is to reduce the consumption of such foods.
CANNED FOODS:
Canned foods are foods that are preserved in air-tight containers like; metals cans, plastics, glass jars and heated so as to killed micro organisms that may cause spoilage to the food. Such foods includes; canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned milk, canned tomatoes, canned corned, etc.
How does canned foods affect the kidney?
1. Canned foods contains excessive sodium, which can also result to Chronic Kidney Diseases.
2. The chemicals in the materials used in manufacturing those cans, may affect the functioning of the kidney.
3. Canned foods are reach in salt which does not only affect the kidney but can result to high blood pressure.
These and many other health disadvantages of canned foods, is why you should minimize the rate of consumption of canned foods, so that your kidney will continue to function regularly and properly.
FROZEN MEALS:
These are foods preserved by freezing and stored in the freezer for sometime before they can be consumed. They include: raw foods like; meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, etc. They also include some pre-cooked foods and certain canned foods.
How does frozen foods affect the kidney?
1. Frozen foods are also high in sodium, phosphorus and potassium level due to the materials used in preserving them, which makes them dagerous for the kidney, especially for those having kidney problems.
2. Frozen foods may contain a lot of unhealthy ingredients and additives because they are highly preserved, and those ingredients and additives may be harmful to the kidney.
All these makes frozen foods very detrimental to the health and functioning of the kidney. Thus, to keep your kidney healthy and functioning, all you need to do is to minimize the intake of frozen foods.
Lastly, other set of foods that are very dangerous to the kidney are;
Dairy Products:
Dairy foods are foods that are reach in the milk of mammals. They includes; yogurt, butter, cream, cheese, ice cream, condensed milk, etc.
How does Dairy Products affect the kidney?
Dairy products are charactyerized by a high quantity of phosphorus, potassium, and proteins. And all these have negative impact on the kidney, if in excess. For instance, phosphorus if in excess it may be very difficult to be excreted away during kidney damage and this can lead to the build up of hyperphosphatemia. Potassium, when in excess, can lead to the disruption of the heart rhythm which can result to very serious health problem, if not death. Proteins, though good for the kidney functioning, when in excess increases the kidney problems in so many ways.
In conclusion, I encourage every member of this blog family to take precautions and minimize the consumption of these 4 types of food, because their damage to the kidney is even more than you have just read in this content.
You can do well preventing the devastating and ruinous impact of these foods in your kidney by a little preventional procedures( Consuming little quantities, not in excess). Already you know, two much of everything is bad.
So, remain healthy and enjoy your precious life by taking heed to today's health tips.
