Dear members of my precious blog family, another issue have arose which we want to consider today. Since we are here to improve the quality of our health, I therefore find it very utilitarian to put you through concerning any issue that can help us to meet this our important goal.
Today, I am going to educate you on the easiest way to control your blood pressure. Before we dive into this,
WHAT IS BLOOD PRESSURE?
Pressure is likened to force. Just like every other liquids exerts pressure(force) when they are flowing, the same is applicable to the blood inside our body.
Thus, in a very simple term blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the arteries as it circulates round the body. This normally happen as your heart is beating.
The blood pressure, I can group it into two viz;
1. Low blood pressure (Low BP) or hypotension.
2. High Blood Pressure (High BP) or hypertension.
But the above two types can be rationalized to get a normal blood pressure. And to do this many factors are involved.
WHAT IS LOW BLOOD PRESSURE?
This type of blood pressure occurs when the force exerted by the blood against the wall of the arteries is too low. In this case, the pressure of the blood is below its normal range, that is between 60mmHg and 90mmHg. Low blood pressure is not always a problem.
Some of the causes of low blood pressure are;
1. Dehydration (loss of water in the body).
2. Side effects from medications.
3. Heart problems like heart failure.
4. Standing up for a very long time.
5. Hormonal imbalances.
6. Anemia.
7. Pregnancy.
8. Blood loss from serious injuries and so on.
HOW CAN WE CONTROL LOW BLOOD PRESSURE?
I will take you through some easiest ways of controlling low blood pressure, and these include;
1. Drink plenty of water or other fluids.
2. Minimize your alcohol intake if possible stop it.
3. Eat more of foods that contains sodium like; processed meat, cheese, bread, pizza, nuts and seeds, etc.
4. Eat more salt.
5. Lower sugar intake.
6. Take foods that contains vitamin B12 like; fish, meat, dairy, eggs, etc.
7. Avoid prolong standing or sitting.
8. Always involve in regular exercise.
9. Have enough sleeping hours, 7 to 9 hours in a night.
Obviously, if you can adhere to the above instructions, you will be able to control your low blood pressure and bring it to normal.
WHAT IS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
High blood pressure on the other hand is the pressure that occurs when the blood exerts a very high force against the walls of an artery during circulation. In this case, the pressure reading is between 80mmHg and 130mmHg or even above. This type of blood pressure is considered more dangerous than the other because it can lead to heart issues like; heart attack, stroke and heart failure. Thus, it needs to be controlled with immediate effect.
Some of the causes of high blood pressure are;
1. High salt intake.
2. Smoking.
3. Drinking of too much alcohol.
4. Lack of physical exercise.
5. Too much Stress.
6. Over feeding leading to obesity.
7. Kidney disease.
8. High sugar intake, etc.
HOW CAN WE CONTROL HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
1. Limit the consumption of foods that are rich in sodium.
2. Limit the rate of smoking, if possible stop it.
3. Avoid too much intake of alcoholic beverages. coconut water etc.
4. Always engage in physical exercises.
5. Have time to rest.
6. Have enough sleeping hours, at least 7 to 9 hours per night.
7. Maintain a healthy weight by limiting the rate of eating.
8. Eat foods that contain potassium, like; banana, avocado, orange, leafy vegetables, potatoes, etc.
WHY MUST YOU CONTROL YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE?
If you are asking why you should control your blood pressure, I am going to help you with the answer to this question. But notice that, blood pressure whether low or high are very dangerous and can kill instantly once the condition gets worse. The high blood pressure, is known as a silent killer because it doesn't show any sign or symptoms. Thus, these dangerous body conditions need to be controlled with immediate effect. The following are the major reasons you should control your blood pressure:
1. High blood pressure leads to a decrease in the amount of blood flowing through the retina of your eyes, and this situation can affect your vision or result to blindness.
2. High blood pressure is the most dangerous factor that leads to stroke and can lead to brain problem.
3. High blood pressure can cause damage in the arteries thereby affecting the amount
of blood flowing into the heart, thus resulting to heart failure, a very dangerous heart problem that kills instantly.
4. High blood pressure can also affect the kidney if not controlled, thereby leading to kidney damage.
5. High blood pressure can lead to a damage of the blood vessel that help to achieve and maintain erection during sexual intercourse and this may lead to sexual dysfunction.
6. Low blood pressure causes dizzy feelings, weakness, fainting and injuries. Hence, must be controlled as well.
7. Low blood pressure can lead to reduction in the level of the body's oxygen, which can cause heart and brain damage. A serious health problem.
All these are the reason you should control your blood pressure, because prevention they said, is better than cure.
In summary, the problem and disaster blood pressure can cause is far much costlier than it's control. So, you can take a very simple step today to save yourself from such ruinous effects of high or low blood pressure. Just stick to the above key factors, you are good to go. And enjoy a life full of normal blood pressure.
